A plush keychain is not a large plush toy scaled down. Less space is available for the face, clothing, seams, labels and attachment point. We redesign the structure for the smaller format, then test how the product looks and hangs with the hardware installed.

Project specifications

We confirm the following details from your artwork and physical sample before quoting or production.

Body dimensions	Give the plush body height separately from the overall hanging length, with the preferred pose and maximum acceptable bulk.
Small-scale artwork	Identify the facial features and brand marks that must remain recognisable; agree any simplification before embroidery or print files are prepared.
Attachment construction	Specify ring, clasp or chain preference, hanging orientation and fabric-loop position; the connection needs review with the assembled sample.
Fabric and weight	Confirm texture, pile length and preferred firmness; the finished piece should suit the intended bag or key use without obscuring details.
Individual packing	Confirm backing-card size, attachment position, barcode and bag requirements; check that hardware will not rub the plush during transport.

Sample and quality checks

Check the face at normal viewing distance rather than only in enlarged photographs. Review the fabric loop, stitching, hardware closure and hanging balance, then confirm the packed sample still keeps its shape.

Quotation and delivery

Quantity and price: Confirm quantity per design, size and colour. MOQ and price follow specification and packaging review.
Sample approval: Approve the material, dimensions, decoration and packing in writing before production.
Schedule: Sample, production and transit times are confirmed separately after review of the brief and receiving date.

Small scale changes which character details can stay visible.

The goal is to preserve recognition without forcing every line from the artwork into a product that is only a few centimetres tall.

Keep the recognition points

Prioritize face, silhouette, color blocks and one or two signature details that still read at small scale.

Simplify deliberately

Tiny fingers, layered clothing, thin props and small printed marks may need merging, embroidery or removal.

Plan the hanging position

The top loop, chain and clasp affect balance. The product should face forward rather than rotate or hang sideways.

Pattern, embroidery and hardware must be reviewed together.

The attachment is part of the product structure, not an accessory added after approval.

Dedicated pattern

A keychain normally needs new pattern pieces and proportions instead of a percentage reduction of a larger plush.

Embroidery scale

Eye, mouth and logo stitches are tested for legibility and clean spacing at the target size.

Attachment hardware

Ball chain, key ring, lobster clasp or other fitting changes cost, use, pull direction and packing.

Labels and accessories

Small labels, felt parts and clothing layers need enough seam allowance and safe attachment space.

The sample is approved both on the table and while hanging.

A front photo is not enough. We check the face, thickness, hardware location and the way the product moves when carried.

Confirm target size, recognition points, attachment preference, label needs and intended sales channel.

2. First sample

Check overall likeness, embroidery, seam bulk, thickness and whether the hardware pulls the shape.

3. Hanging and handling

Test orientation, clasp access, attachment security and whether accessories fold or catch.

4. Approval record

Save the approved sample, measurements, embroidery, hardware and packing method for production.

Small character products use different solutions for shape, detail and attachment.

These anonymized real-product images are the approved category assets for plush keychains. Acrylic keychains and standees are not mixed into this evidence section.

Size is only one part of the cost and MOQ logic.

Small products may use less fabric, but the pattern, embroidery, hardware, labels and individual packing still require setup and control.

MOQ factors

Number of character variants, fabric colors, special fittings, labels and packaging can create separate minimums.

Cost factors

Pattern complexity, embroidery area, clothing layers, hardware, labels and unit packing often matter more than fabric weight.

Sample factors

Small-scale detail may need embroidery tests and more than one adjustment to keep the character readable.

Delivery factors

Approval speed, hardware sourcing, quantity, packing, destination and shipping route affect the final timeline.

The hardware and packing receive the same attention as the plush body.

A good-looking small plush can still fail in use if the loop is weak, the clasp is difficult to open or the packing bends the accessories.

Face and shape

Check embroidery placement, symmetry, seam bulk, stuffing and overall character impression.

Attachment

Check loop stitching, metal fitting, orientation and the connection between hardware and the plush body.

Labels and count

Confirm legal or brand labels, SKU separation, quantity and any assortment rules.

Unit packing

Use bags, backing cards or boxes that protect the shape and keep the attachment organized for display or fulfilment.

Can you shrink my existing plush toy into a keychain?

We can use it as a reference, but the smaller product normally needs a new pattern, simplified details and a different attachment plan.

What is the smallest possible size?

It depends on the character. Facial detail, clothing, fabric pile and seam allowance set the practical limit, not one universal number.

Which keychain fitting should I choose?

Choose according to use, target price, appearance and destination requirements. We can compare common rings, chains and clasps.

What is the MOQ?

MOQ depends on variants, materials, hardware, labels, packaging and supplier minimums. Send the design and quantity range for review.

Can several characters use the same size?

Yes, but each character may need a different pattern and embroidery layout. A shared target size does not mean identical production work.

Can you prepare retail packing?

Yes. Backing cards, bags, barcodes, labels and assortment packing can be coordinated after the sample and hardware are approved.
